National Education Day 11th Nov-2020 (Birthday Celebration of Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad)

 

CELEBRATION OF NATIONAL EDUCATION DAY 2020


National Education Day is an annual observance in India to commemorate the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first education minister of independent India, who served from 15 August 1947 until 2 February 1958. National Education Day of India is celebrated on 11 November every year.

        Freedom fighter and India's first education minister, Abul Kalam Muhiyuddin Ahmed Azad, was born on November 11, 1888. On his 128th birth anniversary, here are some interesting facts about the Indian scholar, freedom fighter, poet, journalist and enigmatic educator:

  • Azad's real name was Abul Kalam Ghulam Muhiyuddin who eventually became known as Maulana Azad
  • He had adopted Azad (Free) as his pen name
  • Azad started composing poetry in Urdu language at a very young age. He also wrote treatises on religion and philosophy
  • He rose to prominence through his work as a journalist, publishing works critical of the British Raj and espousing the causes of Indian nationalism
  • Azad became the youngest person to serve as the President of the Indian National Congress at the age of 35 in 1923
  • Azad became the leader of the 'Khilafat Movement' (1919-26), during which, he came into close contact with the Indian leader Mahatma Gandhi
  • During this period, Azad became an enthusiastic supporter of Gandhi's ideas of non-violent civil disobedience and worked to organise the non-cooperation movement in protest of the 1919 Rowlatt Acts
  • Azad became the most prominent Muslim leader to oppose the creation of Pakistan
  • He became the first Minister of Education in independent India
  • His birth anniversary is celebrated as the National Education Day in India
  • In 1992, he was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna.

प्यारे बच्चों PISA का कार्यक्रम फिर से आ गया है. इस बार उन बच्चों को भी शामिल किया गया है जो इसके दायरे में नहीं आते थे. इसका मतलब ये हुआ कि अब पूरा स्कूल ही PISA के exam में भाग लेगा. इस बार PISA को कुछ अलग किया गया है. सभी बच्चों का रजिस्ट्रेशन 31st अक्टूबर को पोर्टल पर हो जाएगा. 01 नवम्बर से आपको ID दिया जाएगा आप लॉग इन करेंगें और वहां जो भी पेपर होगा उसे आपको कम्पलीट करना होगा. ये सभी के लिए अति आवश्यक होगा.

            Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India is observing the ‘Vigilance Awareness Fortnight’ ‘सतर्कता जागरुकता पखवाड़ा’ from 27 October to 10 November 2020 to emphasize the importance of integrity in public life. The Theme for the Vigilance Awareness Fortnight is – Satark Bharat, Samriddh Bharat (Vigilant India, Prosperous India). The theme puts the impetus on the thought that the development and progress of the nation take place when individuals and organizations are vigilant in safeguarding integrity as a core value.
All sections of society need to be vigilant in order to uphold integrity in all aspects of our national life. Being vigilant also means improvement of internal processes, time-bound disposal of work, and systemic improvements leveraging technology. Technology can play a significant role in making India vigilant and prosperous through process improvements leading to inclusion, simplification, efficiency, and transparency.
Following the same, to enthuse employees and the public at large towards values of honesty, integrity, sincerity, responsibility, transparency, and service to the nation, MeitY has undertaken an essay writing competition through MyGov platform.


We invite you to be part of the 'Vigilant India - Prosperous India' Vigilance Awareness Week and write an essay any of the following topics below-

1. The Competition is open to all citizens of India only. 
2. All entries must be submitted on https://www.mygov.in/ Entries submitted through any other medium/mode would not be considered for evaluation. 
3. A participant can send one entry only. In case it is found that any the participant has submitted more than one entry, all the entries will be considered as invalid. 
4. The entry should be original. Copied entries will not be considered under the contest. 
5. The participant must be the same person who has written the writeup and plagiarism would not be accepted. 
6. Please note that the Essay must be original and should not violate any provision of the Indian Copyright Act, 1957. 
7. Anyone found infringing on others’ copyright would be disqualified from the competition. The government of India does not bear any responsibility for copyright violations or infringements of intellectual property carried out by the participants. 
8. Mention the author's name/emails, etc. anywhere in the body of the essay will lead to disqualification. 
9. Participant is to make sure that their MyGov profile is accurate and updated since it would be using this for further communication. This includes details such as name, photo, complete postal address, email ID, and phone number. Entries with incomplete profiles would not be considered. 
10. MeitY reserves the right to cancel or amend all or any part of the Competition and/ or the Terms & Conditions/Technical Parameters/ Evaluation Criteria. 
11. However, any changes to the Terms and Conditions/Technical Parameters/Evaluation Criteria, or cancellation of the Contest, will be updated /posted on the MyGov. Platform. It would be the responsibility of the participants to keep themselves informed of any changes in the Terms & Conditions/Technical Parameters/Evaluation Criteria stated for this Contest.

The write-ups will be evaluated on the basis of the following criteria:
